Gymnastics Training Built for Malaysian Children

Flykidz Gymnastics is Petaling Jaya’s dedicated gymnastics academy, located at No 3, Jalan Bersatu 13/4, Seksyen 13. We offer structured gymnastics programs for children from 18 months through to competitive pathway level โ€” all under one roof, coached by athletes who have represented Malaysia at the SEA Games and Asian Championships.

Our programs follow the Gymnastics Australia ALP framework, a globally recognised developmental curriculum used across Southeast Asia. Every class is structured around your child’s developmental stage โ€” not just their age โ€” with small class sizes that ensure each child receives individual coaching attention every session.

Whether your toddler is taking their first gymnastics steps in Gymtots, your preschooler is building independence in Kindergym, or your school-age child is working towards competition, all gymnastics classes in Petaling Jaya are delivered at our purpose-built studio with foam pits, spring floors, balance beams, bars, and a full range of gymnastics apparatus.

Families travel from across Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Puchong, Damansara, and Mont Kiara to train at Flykidz. Our studio is in Seksyen 13, Petaling Jaya. Every child’s first class is completely free, with no commitment required.

FAQ โ€” gymnastics classes, Petaling Jaya

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions from PJ parents about our gymnastics classes โ€” age groups, fees, getting started, and what to expect. See our full gymnastics FAQ โ†’

What age can my child start gymnastics at Flykidz?

Children can start gymnastics at Flykidz from 18 months old through our Gymtots program โ€” a parent-and-child class designed for toddlers. From age 3, children transition to our independent Kindergym program. Recreational and Advanced gymnastics begin from age 5, and our Competitive pathway is assessment-based from age 7.

How much do gymnastics classes cost in Petaling Jaya?

The first trial class at Flykidz is completely free for any program. Term fees apply from the second class. Fees vary by program and session length. WhatsApp us or contact us for current pricing โ€” we’re happy to discuss options that work for your family’s schedule and budget.

Does my child need prior gymnastics experience to join?

No prior experience is needed for Gymtots, Kindergym, or Recreational Gymnastics โ€” these programs start from the very beginning. Our coaches are trained to work with complete beginners at every age group. Advanced and Competitive programs require an assessment to ensure the right level placement.

Can parents watch gymnastics classes?

Yes โ€” Flykidz has a dedicated parent viewing area. For Gymtots (ages 18moโ€“3yr), parents participate on the mat alongside their child. From Kindergym (age 3) onwards, children participate independently while parents watch from the gallery. Coaches share feedback with parents at the end of each session.

Is parking available at the Petaling Jaya gymnastics studio?

Yes โ€” we have on-site parking at No 3, Jalan Bersatu 13/4, Seksyen 13. Additional street parking is available along Jalan Bersatu 13/4. Peak class times (Saturday mornings) may require arriving a few minutes early for parking.

What should my child wear to gymnastics class?

Comfortable active wear that fits close to the body โ€” no buttons, zips, or loose clothing that could catch on equipment. Hair should be tied back securely. Children wear grip socks or bare feet on the mats and gym floor. No shoes on the gymnastics floor. We recommend a water bottle for hydration breaks.

How are Flykidz gymnastics classes structured?

All programs run on a 10-week term structure. Each class follows a consistent routine: warm-up, skill stations (floor, mat, and apparatus), and cool-down. Small class sizes ensure each child receives individual coaching attention. The number of children per class varies by program โ€” contact us for specific ratios.

Is Flykidz a safe gymnastics gym for young children?

Safety is built into every aspect of our facility and coaching. All coaches are Gymnastics Australia ALP certified, meaning they are trained in progression-based skill development that minimises injury risk. Our studio uses foam pits, spring mats, and spotting for all skill development. No skill is attempted before the proper prerequisite foundation is in place.

Can my child join mid-term or mid-year?

Yes โ€” we accept new students throughout the year based on class availability. The first trial class is free, and if it’s a good fit, we’ll advise on the best entry point for the current term. WhatsApp us to check current availability for your child’s age group.

What is the pathway from beginner to competitive gymnastics at Flykidz?

The Flykidz pathway: Gymtots (18moโ€“3yr) โ†’ Kindergym (3โ€“5yr) โ†’ Recreational (5โ€“7yr) โ†’ Advanced (8โ€“10yr, assessment) โ†’ Competitive (7yr+, assessment). Children who show natural aptitude may be invited to competitive assessment at any point from Recreational onwards โ€” this is always a conversation between coaches, parents, and the child.
